Jack was the definition of a lovable mess. With his constantly mopey, Eeyore-like expression and those long, droopy ears crusted with drool, he stole our hearts from day one. He had a way of making even the simplest things—like potty training—an extended adventure. Once he finally figured it out, he dedicated his days to sitting in the corner of the yard, keeping a watchful (and slightly judgmental) eye on the neighbors, ensuring they knew he was in charge.
His bark was so ridiculously loud that even he couldn’t handle it—every “WOOF” was followed by a dramatic head shake. Despite his best efforts to be a fierce protector (especially against delivery drivers who definitely weren’t trustworthy), he was the sweetest soul. He adored his cats, loved his little kids, and took his role as “uncle” to three puppies very seriously.
Jack could guilt anyone into a chest scratch, but don’t even think about touching his feet. Nail trims required sedation, yet he loved tricking strangers by offering a paw, just to remind them seconds later what a terrible mistake they had made.
Swimming? Jack’s version involved standing in a tiny water trough while sticking his whole face in water to search for treasures. His nose was always to the ground, except when it came to the oven—after too many fire alarm incidents, he’d cry the moment the door opened, just to remind us of our terrible cooking skills.
Jack was a big, lovable goofball with a heart as big as his bark. He was slobbery, stubborn, sweet, and completely unforgettable. We miss him more than words can say, but his mopey face and big heart will stay with us forever.
